PACHANGA LATINO MUSIC FESTIVAL AND CITY OF AUSTIN ANNOUNCE TEX-MEX TARDEADAS IN PLAZA SALTILLO

November 16, 2010 (Austin, TX)‹The Pachanga Latino Music Festival, a Latin-themed music, cultural arts and food festival, in collaboration with the City of Austin present Tex-Mex Tardeadas, a series of conjunto music concerts for the community at the Plaza Saltillo on the east side. This special series highlights a genre of music native to the South Texas region and rich with the lively sounds of the accordion and the traditional 12-string bajo sexto.

First built in 1998 as a gift to Austin by the sister city of Saltillo, Mexico, the Tex-Mex Tardeadas are a genuine and community-friendly way to celebrate the newly renovated Plaza Saltillo. The two-hour, fun-filled family event is FREE to all and features live music from homegrown conjunto bands, dance contests, prizes, food and more! SAN ANTONIO, TX – In what is being billed as the most important weekend in the Tejano Music industry, TEJANO MUSIC 2010 will bring together the Tejano Music Awards and the Tejano Music National Convention in an unprecedented display of unity from two of the most influential events in the music genre.  Olathe, Kansas-based LatinPointe will produce TEJANO MUSIC 2010 weekend.

“We are pleased to have the Tejano Music Awards join with the Tejano Music National Convention in celebrating our historic 30-year anniversary,” says Frank Salazar, TTMA Board Vice President, “Having the top producers from important events such as the Latino Inaugural Gala, ALMA Awards and Premios Deportes reinforces our belief that this year’s Tejano Music Awards will be spectacular.”

Javier Galvan to leave FAMA for a higher calling….

**IT’S OFFICIAL** After more than 20 years Javier Galvan is retiring to pursue ministry.


The band will continue the legacy of Fama with a newly chosen singer. Javier gives his full blessings and support. Javier will announce and introduce the new singer at the upcoming Tejanoville (Corpus) & Halaballo’s (Houston) shows as Javier sings his farewell shows.
Fama is still going strong and is available to book for all types of events and venues.
