PACHANGA LATINO MUSIC FESTIVAL AND CITY OF AUSTIN ANNOUNCE TEX-MEX TARDEADAS IN PLAZA SALTILLO

November 16, 2010 (Austin, TX)‹The Pachanga Latino Music Festival, a Latin-themed music, cultural arts and food festival, in collaboration with the City of Austin present Tex-Mex Tardeadas, a series of conjunto music concerts for the community at the Plaza Saltillo on the east side. This special series highlights a genre of music native to the South Texas region and rich with the lively sounds of the accordion and the traditional 12-string bajo sexto.

First built in 1998 as a gift to Austin by the sister city of Saltillo, Mexico, the Tex-Mex Tardeadas are a genuine and community-friendly way to celebrate the newly renovated Plaza Saltillo. The two-hour, fun-filled family event is FREE to all and features live music from homegrown conjunto bands, dance contests, prizes, food and more! The next Tex-Mex Tardeada will take place on Sunday, November 20, 2011 with a performance by Conjunto Romo ³Los Little Rascals.² Austin legend and premier conjunto accordionist, Johnny Delgollado ³El Montopolis Kid,² performs on Sunday, November 27, 2011.  For more information, please visit http://www.pachangafest.com/.

San José Mission Fest -Sunday, April 18, 11:00AM through 11:00PM (FREE event)

The entertainment for this event is Tejano/Conjunto, unfortunately the only link for this event is the one on the Fiesta website and it does not include the lineup.  The link does include a number to call, 922-0543.  I highly recommend checking into this event, I know they have brought some big names in the past, and this is such a beautiful setting for an event and you can’t beat the price (parking is free too).  If I find the lineup posted anywhere , I will update this post with the information.
